Why the Bungalow?
The arts and crafts style home (also referred to as the craftsman or bungalow style) grew out of the Arts and Crafts Movement that originated in England. The style was popularized in the United States c. 1890-1920 and tapered off during the Great Depression in the 1930s
As America grew and machinery made an entrance into our culture, Americans became enthralled with the use of factory manufacturing methods and components. A post war boom stripped the wood, glass, nature and detail out of homebuilding and suburbia was born.
Americans realize that today's homes are simply not made as well as they once were and are excited by homes that offer more quality and craftsmanship. As this Arts and Crafts revival sweeps the nation, K2 is eager to bring this masterpiece back to North Florida.
